Charanga Tropical travels to southern Illinois to perform on the wide open green space known as 'Y Block' located in front of the governor's mansion in historic Springfield. In its first season in 2019 the Levitt AMP concert series attracted more than 7,500 attendees and was voted “Best Free Entertainment” by Illinois Times readers. MN Salsa Fiesta will include Dance showcases with the salsa ensemble Salsa de La Calle and McKnight Dance Fellowship winner Yeniel ‘Chini’ Perez. Free dance lesson with Cuban maestro Rene Thompson.

At 10 p.m. the music moves indoors with for an after party with DJ Medicco. Salsa will be spinning with a monster mix of merengue, bachata, timba, and cumbia. Party ends at midnight.

Throughout the evening attendees will be able to sample Latino food vendors and beverages. Artist Victor Yepéz will energize the Museum space with vibrant colors and visuals inspired by salsa music and dance.
