Matthew Zimmerman - recording engineer

Matt Zimmerman is Twin Cities music icon, having mixed and mastered thousands of recordings over the past twenty-two years at the studio he owns and operates, Wild Sound.  A true master of sound Matt has 'saved' many records and made great ones sound even better.

Matt began his career at First Avenue running sounds and lights at the same time Prince was filming "Purple Rain."  Upon completing his degree in film and literature at Carlton College in Northfield, Minnesota he worked three years at Twin Cities Public Television (TPT).  The combination of mixing rock bands at First Avenue and folk, classical, Latin, and jazz music on TPT provided Matt with an incredible range of sonic experience to draw upon for his own studio, Wild Sound.

Wild Sound boasts a twenty plus year tradition of recording and producing excellence.  Established in 1992, Wild Sound continues to be on the cutting edge of recording technology. At the same time, Matt intense focus on understanding artist’s goals and sharing and refining the creative process elevate the studio and its recordings to an inspired level.
An expert at live recording Matt is enthusiastically looking forward to the challenge and thrill of capturing the sounds of the CD, "Charanga Tropical - Live from Havana."
