Franklin Paz - vocal
Franklin Paz was born in Maracaibo, Venezuela. In 2004, he received his bachelor in Elementary Education and his Master’s degree in Educational Leadership in 2007.  In addition to very active schedule as a singer, Franklin currently works with youth at Irma C. Ruiz Elementary School in Chicago.

At age 12 Franklin began singing professionally in Venezuela with “Los Zagalines del Padre Vilchez” and recorded two albums with them.  In 1974 he was the winner of the Golden Voice of Venezuela Festival. From 1977 to 1983 he was the leading vocalist of the Salsa band “Combinacion 77” and recorded 6 albums with this band (First salsa band in the Venezuelan state of Zulia). In 1983 Mr. Paz joins “Samuel Del Real & his Orchestra” and recorded 3 albums with them. In 1984, he moved to Chicago with Del Real’s orchestra. In 1990 he decided to work as a freelance artist.

In 2003 he is invited by Doc Severensen to be a part of his show “Doc with a Latin Beat” This was a show to present around United States and Canada which included Latin American Music with a Full Symphony Orchestra. The orchestras that participated in Severensen’s show were:  Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra, Minnesota Symphony Orchestra, San Diego Symphony Orchestra, and Ottawa National Symphony Orchestra. The production consistently sold out and continued in popularity until one of Severensen’s retirement.
